Have you ever been on a Scavenger Hunt?!?
Teams are formed and you are given a list of random items to locate in a set amount of time.....and there's always a prize involved.
Scavenger Hunt's are fun....frantic....interesting. They promote team building, leadership, resourcefulness, creativity.....and they replicate LIFE!
Making a movie is exactly like that.
The movie is STEP AWAY FROM THE STONE. It is a story about Brooke, a Music Executive, who attempts to dull the pain of her past with the use of drugs and alcohol. Traumatized both physically and mentally by an almost fatal car accident she is forced to battle her inner darkness. Forgiving and letting go of the past is the only way to save her self and any hope of a future.
STEP AWAY FROM THE STONE will be filmed entirely in Arkansas utilizing Arkansas talent in all areas of the production. The movie will be released in theatres in late summer or early fall of 2010.
We are getting close to actually shooting scenes....& every day my list CHANGES. We've been looking for cast members....for musicians with original songs....for locations....for props....for food.....for product placement opportunities....for people who want to be involved in every possible way....
Whew!
And our team has been changing every day, too! Each call...each visit....each item checked off the list has brought one-two-or-ten new people enthusiastically into the Rock Productions event! It's all so exciting!
There are still some things on the list, though....
CAST --
Young Brooke still hasn't been cast -- she's blonde, blue-eyed & about 4 years old
Extras of all ages will be needed for a LOT of scenes
Know anybody that wants to be IN a movie?
FOOD --
The cast & crew need to be fed every day of shooting. The Arkansas Hospitality Association has put the word out for us to local restaurants. Thanks, Montine & Jill, for your support & encouragement!
Breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks....for about 20 - 30 people each day. Restuarants are an obvious source of these meals...however, it would be cool to see some church groups, civic groups, professional organizations, or just friends who want to help somehow get involved in our meals!
One meal on one day would be an awesome way to get involved ... and support our cast & crew.....
....and the movie!
All who provide meals will be given a roll credit at the end of the movie as well as lots & lots of mentions on the STEP AWAY FROM THE STONE Fan Page on Facebook and on the Rock Productions http://www.rockproductions.net/ website. Once the official movie website is developed...promotional recognition will be there as well.
And since the cast & crew are primarily from central Arkansas you will be building a lot of good will with several hundred people involved in the production.
LOCATIONS --
There are still a few locations that haven't been selected yet. A restaurant scene. Some interior home scenes. Office scenes. A private jet & terminal scene. Let me know of any cool places in the central Arkansas area. It's not uncommon for people who enjoy a movie to seek out or make a special trip to the locations.....movies generate tourism!
WARDROBE --
A few of the characters haven't been "dressed" yet. Here is a tremendous opportunity for local clothing & accessory stores to showcase themselves and have a lot of fun as well. Contemporary menswear is high on our list at the moment. Promotional mentions, a roll credit, & visual branding within the story are possibilities for those working with us to dress our cast!
PRODUCT PLACEMENT --
The goal of Rock Productions is to portray Arkansas as it REALLY is to the rest of the world....not as the backwards place that is often stereotyped in movies. With that in mind, we are looking for local businesses and products to help us make the movie in return for actual visual product or branding within the story.
For instance, one of our partners in the making of STEP AWAY FROM THE STONE is Java Roasting Company. They will be providing coffee for the cast & crew each day. And you will be seeing their logo in a variety of creative....but realistic & believable ways...throughout the movie.
The number one prop item in the movie is a cell phone! There is one or more in most of the scenes. Think this would be an awesome chance for a cell phone provider to get some visual marketing of their specific phones....and logo branding, too!
We are definitely open to discussing ALL product placement ideas....so let me know if you have a product or business that you'd like to have included in the movie.
PROPS --
This is the TRUE Scavenger Hunt list....it's constantly changing....as we remember things....we think of new ideas....or a scene changes somehow....here's a few things I KNOW that I am looking for in the next week or so:
Bicycles -- Need 2 for a great scene at the Big Dam Bridge
Candles -- Lots of votive candles for a romantic scene
Ladies Watch
Engagement Ring
Ladies Bathing Suits
A Luxury Car
Luggage
Props and product placement go hand-in-hand. All who assist with our prop needs will receive promotional mentions on websites and fan pages as well as a roll credit. Certain prop needs will qualify for branded product placement within the actual story.
Again, if you have some ideas...let's talk.
So that's what I am doing this week.....engaging in a Scavenger Hunt....
Wanna play?!?!
